Question:
My husband, who has his permanent resident card ("Green Card") will be traveling
to Mexico with our daughter, who has as passport and birth certificate. Do
either of them need any other documents?
Answer:
A permanent resident card will suffice for your husband to enter Mexico and
return to the United States. If your daughter is a minor, your husband must
carry a notarized letter from you stating that he has your permission to take
her into Mexico. This is required of all children who are traveling to another
country with one parent.
The letter should include the names
of the child and the parent accompanying her. The U.S. State Department
also recommends that the permission letter include the travel dates,
destinations, airlines and a brief summary of the circumstances surrounding the
travel.
Along with the letter, the
child should also carry a birth certificate, medical information and health
insurance details, and, if the parents are divorced, an original custody
decree.

nearest Mexico Consulate or Embassy.
